Navigating the Tricky and Often Triggering World of Social Media as a Mom

Featured on PsychCentral.com

Catherine O'Brien, LMFT has once again been featured in an article on PsychCentral.com, this time discussing specifically how social media influences self-confidence, mental health, and choice as mothers.

Do you use Facebook or other social media platforms as a little break, some socialization or support?

Notice how you feel whenever you do log on to social media and whether it is actually serving you.

It can often be a double-edged sword. There are some incredible resources in the form of groups, good friends, and even businesses that can help you to find answers to questions or provide reassurance that what you're doing is right for you. But if you notice that more often than not, you're feeling overwhelmed, judged, "not-enough-ness," or any other negative, unproductive, or unsupportive emotion, it may be time to disengage for a while.

Check out this article, full of wisdom from both Catherine and fellow colleague, Krysta Dancy, MA.
